I’ve been using the Ohlins STX 36 Scooter Shock Absorber YA 020 for a few months now, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best upgrades I’ve ever made to my bike. The shock absorber has significantly improved the handling and stability of my Yamaha Nmax 155, especially during high-speed turns. The only minor issue I have is that the spring setting for free with rider weight and riding style was not as customizable as I had hoped.

Does this shock absorber have any limitations in terms of speed or terrain?
Thomas Yap –
Thank you for your question, Kenneth! The Ohlins STX 36 Scooter Shock Absorber YA 020 is designed to handle a wide range of speeds and terrains. However, as with any high-performance shock absorber, it’s essential to note that extreme off-road use or racing may exceed its recommended capabilities. Emily Lee –
What is the difference between the Ohlins S36PR1 and STX 36 Twin shock absorbers? I’ve been trying to decide which one to purchase for my Yamaha Nmax 155.
Dee Lee –
Thank you for reaching out, Emily! The Ohlins S36PR1 and STX 36 Twin are both high-performance shock absorbers designed for Yamaha Nmax 155. While they share some similarities, there are key differences between them. Both models feature a monotube gas type of shock absorber with external ‘piggy back’ reservoir, but the main difference lies in their specific design and features. The Ohlins STX 36 Twin is specifically designed to improve the effectiveness of your motorcycle’s rear suspension, whereas the S36PR1 is also designed for high-performance applications. Both models have adjustable rebound damping and come with a yellow spring. However, the length and stroke dimensions differ slightly between the two models. For the Yamaha Nmax 155, I would recommend the Ohlins STX 36 Twin as it has been specifically designed to improve the rear suspension’s effectiveness. Please feel free to ask if you have any further questions.
