I’m a bit disappointed that the Yamaha X-Max 125, 300, 400 & Tricity 300 Flip Screen doesn’t come with a universal mounting system – it would be awesome if it could fit multiple bike models. Nevertheless, I still enjoy using it on my daily ride and the windscreen has made a noticeable difference in reducing wind noise.

I’m still deciding whether or not this flip screen is worth the price. On one hand, it provides excellent protection from the elements and enhances my visibility while riding. On the other hand, I find adjusting the screen can be a bit finicky at times. Despite these minor quirks, I believe the Yamaha X-Max 125, 300, 400 & Tricity 300 Flip Screen is a solid investment for those who prioritize comfort and style.

What’s the most effective way to adjust the screen while riding? Should I use my left hand or right hand to flip it up and down? How do you maintain a steady pace with this accessory installed? Does anyone know any tricks for adjusting the screen on the go?
Thomas Yap –
Hi Kavitha, thanks for sharing your concerns about adjusting the flip screen while riding! To answer your questions, it’s generally recommended to use your right hand to flip the screen up and down, as this will allow you to maintain better control of the motorcycle. You can adjust the screen with a gentle motion using your thumb or index finger. As for maintaining a steady pace, the key is to get comfortable with the weight and balance of the bike with the accessory installed. Practice making small adjustments while stopped at intersections or slowing down, and you’ll find it becomes second nature. Some riders also find it helpful to adjust their riding position slightly, such as leaning forward or back, to better suit their comfort level. As for tricks, one tip is to use your dominant hand for flipping the screen up or down, but still keep a light grip on the handlebars with your other hand. This way, you can maintain control while making adjustments. I hope these tips are helpful! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
