Yamaha Pressure Plate – R15 / MT15

The Yamaha Pressure Plate (R15 / MT‑15) is a key component of the clutch assembly that ensures the proper engagement and disengagement of the clutch. It presses the clutch plates together when the lever is released, allowing engine power to be transmitted efficiently to the gearbox and rear wheel.

In sport bikes like the R15 and MT‑15, which use assist and slipper clutch systems, the pressure plate works in conjunction with the clutch boss and springs to provide smooth, consistent lever feel, precise power delivery, and controlled slip during aggressive downshifts.

A high-quality pressure plate maintains uniform pressure across all clutch plates, preventing slippage, uneven wear, and reduced performance. Over time, worn or warped pressure plates can cause clutch chatter, slipping, or difficulty in gear engagement.
